About the event
Join Barnstormers Revue for an afternoon of skill sharing, community building, and ensemble co-creation. Facilitated by BSR co-founders Cydney Marie and Marlowe Martinez, each month will focus on a topic or technique addressing the question of how theatre can create revolutionary change. In addition to practicing styles like Theatre of the Oppressed, devising, documentary theatre, and more, this monthly interactive workshop will also offer space for critical discussion with likeminded artists and change makers. Appropriate for artists and activists of all experience levels, the only requirements to join this workshop are an openness to critical reflection and, crucially, a willingness to play.
The theme for April is "Embodied Storytelling" with a focus on image theatre/theatre of the oppressed and viewpoints.
NOTE: Attendees have the option to stay after for BSR's monthly membership meeting, from 5pm to 6pm.
