What is Forge?

Services

At Forge, we believe there is an unmet need for performance based artists to develop new, original work for the stage. Our goal is to offer space and community to facilitate this process and contribute to a vibrant arts culture in southeast Michigan.

The Forge offers independent artists and producers a place to grow professionally through a collaborative community and shared facility space. The Forge offers memberships but is open to non-members and the local community. In addition to space, the Forge offers ticketing, marketing and house management.

Facilities

Forge is a former light industrial space with an open floor plan and three use areas: lobby, meeting and studio. The lobby is about  270 sq. feet and includes a ticket booth, mini-fridge and handicap accessible bathroom. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. The meeting area has work tables and seating for up to 12. The studio is 25 x 25 of open space for rehearsals, performances, events and meetings.

The studio has  8 Par54 Can lights, with two dimmer packs and a 16 input board, plus  a modest PA system with two passive speakers, a wired microphone and an 8 channel board. There is seating for up to 40 audience members. In addition, the studio has three 6 ft. folding tables and an additional 10 folding chairs.
