Synopsis

After five years of therapy, Alex has reached an emotional impasse. Haunted by a traumatic event he cannot fully remember, he is desperate to overcome his PTSD and rebuild his life. During a critical therapy session, Dr. Schell encourages Alex to confront his fragmented memories of the event. What emerges is a deeply disturbing realization about a moment when Alex was forced to make decisions that no one should ever have to make.

Code Five is an intimate, emotionally charged drama about trauma, memory and survival. Set almost entirely within the confines of a therapist’s office, the play explores what happens after the headlines disappear and the survivors are left to live with what they experienced. It asks difficult questions about guilt, responsibility and the lingering psychological wounds of violence—and ultimately about whether confronting the past can make it possible to move forward.
